The Blanco Library is pleased of offer card holding patrons free Internet access. The Library's goal is to enhance its existing collection by providing the opportunities and resources of the Web.
Use of the Public Internet Access Computers require that the patron holds a library card, has read and signed the written policy, and uses the service during library hours on a sign-up schedule.
Patrons under seventeen (17) years old may use the Internet with parental permission. Those who are familiar with computers and Internet usage and have parental consent may use the computers without a parent present.
Younger patrons may be on-line with a parent or guardian assisting. All students are given verbal instructions which explain that the Internet in the library is primarily a reference tool.
The Library's provision of public access to the Internet subscribes to the principles of "Access to Electronic Information services, and Networks," an Interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights.
