Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Arrives in Blanco County!
The Imagination Library of Blanco County is a partnership between the Blanco Library and the Johnson City Library. Our Local Champion, Friends of the Blanco Library, raises funds to pay $2.10 per child each month and DPIL covers all overhead and admin expenses at no cost to Local Champion partners. This opportunity was made possible by local foundations and donors that support the Friends of the Blanco Library and community members like you! Families in Johnson City, City of Blanco, and surrounding areas that make up Blanco County can start their own little libraries at home!
Parents or guardians may register online at www.imaginationlibrary.com or fill out a mail-in form. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library will mail an age-appropriate, high-quality book to each child for free every month until they reach the age of five. For a child who signs up at birth, that is 60 books - all delivered straight to their mailbox!
Once a child reaches their fifth birthday, they will graduate from the program with a final book and a personalized video message from Dolly Parton.
Early childhood literacy helps foster a lifelong love of reading and learning, which can lead to improved education, financial stability, and quality of life outcomes for the entire community. The ability for young children to collect their very own books at home makes it fun and easy to discover the joy of reading with this curated collection from The Dollywood Foundation.
About Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Since launching in 1995, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has become the preeminent early childhood book-gifting program in the world. The flagship program of The Dollywood Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has gifted over 200 million free books in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and The Republic of Ireland. This is achieved through funding shared by The Dollywood Foundation and Local Program Partners. The Imagination Library mails more than 2 million high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to enrolled children from birth to age five. Dolly envisioned creating a lifelong love of reading and inspiring children to Dream More, Learn More, Care More and Be More.
The program has been widely researched and results demonstrate its positive impact on early childhood development and literacy skills. Penguin Random House is the exclusive publisher for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. For more information, please visit imaginationlibrary.com.
